Thoughtful, entertaining reflection, direct to this site. It’s a duty I imposed on myself but it seems I have failed to live up to it. Lately, that is. Someone close to me asked the other day what would be my resolutions for 2025. A delinquent pause followed. A resolution is a promise to oneself surely, not a public pronouncement, a means to impress. You can do that anytime you like. In fact, it’s worth practicing.
But It’s every human’s duty in this part of the world to have at least one resolution ready to roll out on January 1. Or a damned good excuse. I just have that rebellion reflex, left over from my teens, that never really dissipated as it should. Same with New Year’s Eve: what’s all the fuss about.
I’ll do better in 2025, I promise myself (resolve). Solved. Paid up.
